Valley of Silence (The Circle Trilogy #3) by Nora Roberts
SPOILER ALERT (this is book three of a trilogy, read the other two reviews first, or just go read the books already)
The final book, Valley of Silence. Words cannot describe… well, that’d be a sucky review.
Finally, we get to one of the more interesting characters – Cian, the vampire with a heart of gold. Not really, he’s kind of a prick, but he’s interesting. And he’s a tall, handsome, dark haired and blue eyed prick. Who’s got the hots for Moira, the queen of Geall. And she’s got the hots for him… bow-chicka-wow-wow.
I have to say, this is my favorite book. Not only is there an amazing and detailed climax of the series (the war, you dirty, dirty, reader), but Roberts takes the two characters that I really thought were going to suck (no pun intended) and allows their characters to blossom and grow together in a way that stretches their previously emotionally shallow depths to new heights. How’s that for mixing metaphors?
The Three R’s
Rating: NC-17 Again, there’s more blood and violence, and the vampire queen in particular is seriously messed up. That alone would make me keep this away from teenagers and the faint of heart. Then, of course, there’s more sex. It’s still mostly suggestion and sexual tension, but there are enough lovin’ scenes to make it toasty. (Sex with a vampire… in front of a mirror. Kinky.)
Recommendation: Go get these books now. In case I wasn’t clear before – I highly recommend. And you can read them in public with minimal blushing. Though beware, you may find your current partner a bit mundane after all of that. But that’s ok, just use a little imagination in the sack… hell, you know we all fantasize.
Re-Read: Definitely. If you loan this out to a friend, beware that you may not get it back.
